What does the 30th anniversary mean?

Atajo was founded in 1996 in La Paz, Bolivia, as a project led by Francisco “Panchi” Maldonado, driven by the need to tell real stories through music. From the beginning, the band has developed a distinctive sound blending Latin rock with cumbia, reggae, Afro-Bolivian rhythms, and Andean roots, never forgetting its origins or where it comes from.

For more than two decades, Atajo has performed across Bolivia, Latin America, and has also toured in Europe. Throughout its journey, more than fifty musicians have been part of the project, contributing to its evolution and musical richness.

Today, following Panchi’s move to Sweden, Atajo is entering a new phase. The band celebrates 30 years of trajectory while seeking new spaces and audiences, maintaining its essence and opening up to new paths within the European music scene.
